COURSES
The courses at our Cigar Institute are canceled due to issues related from the Covid-19 protection protocols established at the factory.
The “Cigar Institute” focuses its efforts on education, communication and dissemination of the culture of tobacco, understanding it to be an inseparable part of the development of Dominican society and its agro cultural practices. It places special emphasis on all aspects related to the understanding of the different varieties of plants, soils, organoleptic characteristics, leagues, tasting of cigars and through pairings between cigars and various agro-food specialties.
METHODOLOGY
The model used is based on the application of theoretical and practical content of the relevant course or module in order to understand and expand the agrocultural practices of tobacco in the Dominican Republic and master and enjoy the exciting world of tobacco in all its forms.
TRAINING PROGRAM
Discover how climate, soil and seed varieties influence the organoleptic characteristics of a cigar. Discover and experience in order to be able to fully enjoy the sensory aspects of this wonderful product, to understand when the smoke is well balanced, to assess the degree of strength of tobacco and understand the complex process of making a Cigar.

OPERATING AND COURSE CERTIFICATE
To receive the “Official Certificate of La Aurora Cigar Factory” Endorsed by the Dominican Tobacco Institute the participant must pass the knowledge assessment to be delivered to each of the participants on the last day of the course.
The result of the accrediting tests of the participants’ degree of knowledge will be mailed to those attending the courses after evaluation of their assessments by the teaching staff of the “La Aurora Cigar Institute” and the “Dominican Tobacco Institute”.
